Budgens is celebrating ‘A Taste of Italy’ between 5 and 25 August with a range of own-brand and branded Italian ranges on offer throughout its stores.
Budgens chilled garlic baguette (twin pack), Budgens Italian salad, Budgens tiramisu and panna cotta will all be on sale at lower prices throughout the period.
In addition, a raft of branded products will be available to Budgens customers at promotional prices, on multiple deals, £1 deals and half price and ‘better than half price’ offers.
Lines include chilled and frozen items (such as pizza, cheese and ham), wine, beer, and grocery products (including olives, risotto rice, pasta and pasta sauces).
Budgens continues to develop its own-brand range, “strengthening the Budgens reputation for value” and making eating in more appealing to cash-strapped shoppers and, earlier this year, re-launched its Italian and traditional ready-meal ranges.
The dishes, including lasagne, ham and mushroom tagliatelle, spaghetti bolognese, tuna and pasta bake and macaroni cheese, offer ‘real food for today’s communities’ where busier lifestyles and an ageing population mean that consumers are looking for time-saving meal solutions, including smaller single portion sizes.
In addition, Budgens is taking further steps to develop its Italian range and is currently talking to a new, authentic pasta supplier with a view to creating a new range of exciting lines for 2010 and beyond.
To help drive sales and footfall in store, ‘A Taste of Italy’ will be supported with extensive promotional activity, plus point of sale packs including posters and barkers.
