Budgens is launching a ‘grow your own’ campaign for its retail partners, in its seventh year as a main sponsor of British Food Fortnight.
Dan Quest, Budgens sales director, said: “We’re taking this opportunity to encourage our retail partners to work closely with young people in their communities to really bring to life our brand essence of ‘real food for today’s communities.”
The ‘grow your own’ campaign is yet another “great opportunity” for Budgens retailers to link up with their local primary schools to encourage the children to grow their own fresh herbs from seed. Each ‘grow your own’ pack includes:
30 pots
Enough seeds to fill all the pots
Plant growth diary, including a ruler to measure the plant’s growth and the opportunity for the children to give details of what dishes they used their herb in
Template for each child to complete and draw their plant’s fantasy home
Budgens is producing marketing collateral, including stickers, posters, shelf barkers and an in-store treasure hunt template to enable retailers to promote the activity in their stores.
