Booker, the UK’s leading food and drink wholesaler, has launched a brand new ‘Back to College’ promotion to help independent retailers attract more sales from the student community.
All of the deals have been specially selected to appeal to students who are returning to colleges and universities and want convenient, low priced food and drink to start the forth coming semester.
Starting from September 4 for four weeks, Booker has lowered the price on key products such as Pot Noodles, Valencia wine and Pasta ‘n’ Sauce.
“This is the first time Booker has offered a ‘back to college’ promotion,” said Steve Fox, sales director for retail.
“Many independent retailers usually focus on back to school, however Booker believes the returning student population present a massive opportunity for retailers to increase their sales.
“There are some great savings in branch on products that students will buy such as Foster’s price marked at £3.59, VK Vodka and Uncle Ben’s Express rice.
“These products will make sure independent stores are a destination for students.”
Booker has also launched a Premier promotion themed around £1 value.
There are 20 products included ,such as share-size Coke, Heinz soup at two for £1 and Rustlers snacks.
Alcohol is also included with great deals such as four bottles of WKD for £4, six bottles of Budweiser for £6 and 700ml Eristoff vodka for £9.99.
“Premier promotions are vitally important to attract shoppers and these will appeal to wide range but especially to students,” said Fox.
“We have built these packages of promotions in both branches and Premier to maximise the event for independent retailers.
“This is a fantastic range of deals and hope they will add real value to our customers business.”
