Bestway cuts prices on summer products for Olympics

Wholesale group Bestway is to cut prices on more than 1,000 top-selling summer products in its next big promotional period, says today’s Independent Retail News.

It says the move is designed to help retailers “reap the maximum benefit from the unprecedented demand expected in the coming months” as Olympic visitors descend on the country and look to buy on-the-go products.
Soft drinks, water, ice-cream, wine, beer, snacks and household essentials, among other categories, are all included in the promotional deals.

Kaiser Yousaf, trading director for Bestway and Batleys, said: “We have taken a deliberate and planned approach to give our customers the best possible deals in our Big Summer promotion this month.

“We have put together more than 1,000 normal, everyday products they will be selling in their thousands anyway and slashed the prices to the bone so they can make as much profit as possible.”

In addition to the reduced prices, customers will continue to be eligible for up to 4% cash back available with the Big Summer promotion, which runs until September.
