OFT Morrisons milk price fixing case “based on single email”
The Office of Fair Trading's investigation into the alleged price fixing of milk involving supermarket giant Morrisons rests largely on a single email, according to the Sunday Telegraph.
Last month, the OFT was forced to apologise to Morrisons and pay out £100,000 in libel damages after admitting that a press release announcing the investigation contained serious errors relating to the supermarket.
The OFTs 570-page statement of objections, seen by the Sunday Telegraph shows the case against Morrisons relies on an email from a national account manager at Arla to a buyer at Asda.
The OFT case is also based on a telephone conversation between retailers and Express Dairies, says the newspaper.
