Morrisons has called for the Office of Fair Trading to accept it was “unfair and unlawful” to name the supermarket in its inquiry into an alleged milk cartel, according to reports from The Financial Times.
Other supermarkets, such as Sainsbury's and Asda, have admitted being involved in anti-competitive practices, but Morrisons and Tesco have stood firm in battling the accusations.
According to the Financial Times, a High Court judge has granted Morrison permission to bring judicial review proceedings against the OFT. Morrison has also called for a new OFT team to replace the one currently handling the investigation.
The retailer is also suing the OFT for libel over a press release which named Morrison as one of the businesses involved with fixing milk prices.
