Tesco’s Fresh & Easy chain in the US has enlisted the help of the British Royal Family with Prince Andrew attending the opening of its latest store, in Compton, Southern California.  Prince Andrew said: "I'm delighted to be able to support Tesco as they expand here in the US. By locating stores in areas like Compton, Tesco’s Fresh & Easy will help contribute to local job creation in neighbourhoods that badly need it."
“Fresh & Easy is committed to opening stores in all types of neighbourhoods. We believe everyone deserves fresh, wholesome food at affordable prices, regardless of where they live,” said chief executive Tim Mason. Compton has a reputation for poverty and gang-related violence. Fresh & Easy currently has 43 grocery markets open throughout Southern California, Nevada and Arizona.
