Checkout magazine has launched its 2008 Convenience Awards with a call for entries.

2008 Convenience Awards

Now in their fourth year, the Checkout Convenience Awards have gone from strength to strength as the multiple convenience sector continues to thrive.

Launched in 2004 in partnership with global convenience consultants srgc, the awards are unique in rewarding both retailers and suppliers operating in the UK convenience market.

There are nine award categories, including:

• Best Convenience Store Format
• Best Convenience Supplier of the Year
• Best Community Initiative of the Year
• Best Customer Service Initiative of the Year
• Best Fresh and Chilled Convenience Retailer of the Year
• Convenience Store Manager of the Year
• Best Convenience Forecourt Retailer
• Best New Convenience Product Launch
• Supplier/Retailer Partnership of the Year

The judges’ will also choose their overall Convenience Champion.

Entries are invited from convenience retailers and store managers, manufacturers and suppliers.

Previous winners have includes Marks & Spencer Simply Food, Spar, Budgens, Esso On the Run, BP Retail, Imperial Tobacco and Innocent Drinks.

The awards take place on 16 May 2008 at Vinopolis in London.
