Mars to add veggie labels to chocolate bars

Friday, 10 August 2007
Confectionery giant Mars is to add ‘suitable for vegetarians’ to labels on a range of its chocolates.

Mars faced criticism earlier this year after the company switched to animal rennet making them unsuitable for vegetarians.

However, the confectionery giant has since reverted back to vegetarian ingredients and the labels, based on the Food Standards Agency guidance, will be added to Mars, Snickers, Galaxy and Maltesers chocolates.
