Waitrose has launched its first online home delivery service in Scotland.
Its two stores in Edinburgh have launched the Waitrose Deliver service, just over a year since the stores opened.
Store manager for the Morningside branch, David Lincoln, said he was confident the new service would prove popular with a wide range of people across the city.
He added: “We also offer a home delivery service for people who have come to the store for their shopping but maybe don’t have their own transport to take the goods home.
“Customers who choose to shop online may be anxious about the fact that they can’t pick the produce themselves, but we can guarantee that the products they receive will be of the best quality with a good shelf life.”
To reduce packaging waste, delivery drivers can collect bags on delivery and take them back to the store for recycling.
The service costs up to £5 for a delivery, with a minimum order of £50.
