Symbol group Key Lekkerland is to close its head office in Rugby and switch management of national accounts to Booker, JW Filshill and Palmer & Harvey.
Managing director John Liptrot said in a statement that the decision followed a three-month review of Key Lekkerland’s role as a buying group and the management of its national accounts distribution operation.
He said: “With the introduction of both Booker and Palmer & Harvey to the group to work alongside JW Filshill, we have significantly enhanced our distribution capabilities and we are now seeking to restructure the national accounts function to provide accounts with a number of improvements.
“As a result of this review it has been decided that the management of national accounts should be migrated to those members best able to provide a distribution service tailored to our customer’s needs.
“Our greatest concern is that our valued customers should enjoy continuity of supply, with the same high level of service.”
The restructure is expected to be completed by the end of August.
Liptrot added: “Each member will continue to provide expertise and continued service to the national symbol group Keystores within their own regions.”
