Maxxium Worldwide, the global distribution company, jointly owned by Beam Global Spirits & Wine Inc, Rémy Cointreau, The Edrington Group and Vin & Sprit (V&S) today issued the following announcement regarding the decision of the Swedish government to sell V&S to Pernod Ricard.

Ben van Doesburgh, CEO of Maxxium stated: "Maxxium is proud to have supported the success of V&S, and especially the Absolut brand, to its current market value, through the exceptional growth we delivered for seven years in a row.

"Maxxium is committed to building the portfolio of brands of Beam Global Spirits & Wines, The Edrington Group, Rémy Cointreau and V&S.

Together with our shareholders, we will define the future beyond the eventual V&S exit to ensure Maxxium remains a superior builder of premium spirits and wines brands in the markets in which we operate.

The reality is that until the sale process of V&S to Pernod Ricard is finalised, and approved by the relevant regulatory authorities, nothing will change; therefore, it remains business as usual for Maxxium.

We will continue to work with our customers and consumers on Absolut vodka and the other V&S brands in the Maxxium portfolio.

Pernod Ricard has stated its intention to exit Maxxium at the latest two years after the sale is completed, and it is our intention to work with them to ensure a smooth transition for all our customers.”
