EPoS software specialist CES acquired by Consolis Systems
Consolis Systems Limited, the London-based retail management software and services company, has acquired CES Software, the company behind the market-leading CES Touch Screen electronic point of sale (EPoS) software system used by thousands of UK post offices, CTNs, grocery stores, jewellers, dry-cleaners, pubs, clubs, hotels and restaurants. CES Software will continue to operate under its own name as part of the Consolis group of companies. Consolis will make an immediate long-term investment into the ongoing development of CESs market-leading EPoS software suite, CES Touch. This will further enhance the softwares functionality and will ensure that it continues to meet the ever-changing point of sale needs of UK retailers. For example, the CES system now enables neighbourhood retailers to offer their customers a fast and easy electronic top-up service for prepay mobile phones and other prepaid services. CES Software already partners with Geller, which, in conjunction with Fujitsu, provides CESs software solution to the Post Office. This solution creates additional revenue streams by selling retail products to existing Post Office customers whilst, at the same time, attracting new footfalls into Post Office branches. Consolis plans to launch an innovative new range of fully-integrated EPoS services for retailers later this year. Consolis says all of CES Softwares current employees will be retained. Indeed, it intends to recruit further staff immediately in order to provide increased support for CES Touch customers and CES's dealer network. Peter Moore, managing director of Consolis Systems, will become managing director of CES Software with immediate effect. Moore was previously managing director of electronic payment solutions companies Omega Logic and the Eposs Group. Gordon Griffin, Consolis Systems director of IT and operations, will also become director of IT and operations at CES Software. Griffin has over 16 years of experience in retail, telecoms and accounting software and was previously IT director at Omega Logic. Peter Moore, managing director of CES Software, says: CES Touch already provides excellent functionality and reliability for retailers, but we aim to take the software suite to a new level. By combining the resources and expertise of Consolis with CESs proven technology, we believe we can deliver a unique offering that will enable retailers to increase revenue, reduce costs and improve customer satisfaction. Moore adds: CES Touch customers will continue to receive excellent support from their dealers and this will be strengthened by an increased focus from our reinforced sales, support and development teams. Gordon Griffin, CES Softwares director of IT and operations, says: Retailers will be able to take advantage of new functionality and additional services that can be fully integrated into their EPoS system. This will deliver unrivalled revenue, cost reduction and efficiency opportunities - all without the need for additional hardware or communications links in-store.
