Midlands Co-op awards £3m cleaning contract to Initial

Midlands Co-op, the largest independent regional retail co-operative in the UK, has awarded a cleaning contract to Initial Retail Cleaning, part of Initial Facilities Services.

The three-year agreement, in excess of £1 million per annum, will involve the cleaning of 174 food and non-food retail sites principally located in Derbyshire, Leicestershire, and the Greater Midlands.

Initial Retail Cleaning will be responsible for providing cleaning services for a diverse range of retail sites including superstores, supermarkets and department stores.

The solution will involve the daily cleaning of internal and external public areas, as well as office and warehouse cleaning where required.

Commenting on the contract, a spokesman for Midlands Co-op said: “A clean, safe, comfortable environment is vital for a positive shopping experience. Initial Retail Cleaning demonstrated its ability to support our business and protect our brand through the delivery of this critical support service.”
