Synovate acquires UK retail specialist PS&A

Leading global market research agency Synovate today announced the acquisition of Peter Seagroatt & Associates (PS&A), a UK specialist in the analysis of retail data.

Established in 1994 and based in Essex, PS&A is the leading supplier of retail key account information to the UK petrol forecourt and convenience sectors. Its client base includes top retailers and their suppliers in those areas.

PS&A will be integrated into Synovate Aztec, the company's international retail information business, which has 300 staff in 10 countries and is recognised as an industry pioneer in developing software for this business area.

Synovate's Global CEO Adrian Chedore said the acquisition of PS&A will strengthen the services provided to UK retailers and suppliers. “The combination of PS&A's data access and customer base, coupled with Aztec's world-class software tools, will result in an improved service for UK retail data clients.”

Chedore noted that this move follows Synovate's acquisition of SPSL, Europe's leading provider of footfall equipment and analysis to major retailers, in December 2007. “This latest acquisition signals our determination to be a leading player within the retail area not only in the UK but also globally.”

PS&A Chairman Peter Seagroatt added, “We have had a successful 14 years, but to go forward, we need access to the best software available. In my opinion, the Synovate Aztec tools are the top choice in the market.”
