R.H. Amar and Filippo Berio to part company

R.H. Amar & Co. Ltd., the full service importer and national distributor of fine foods, and Filippo Berio (UK) Ltd, have announced that they will part company when their current distribution agreement ends on 30th Sept 2008.

This follows 25 years of successful co-operation, which has established Filippo Berio as Britain's No. 1 Olive Oil brand for over two decades.

Henry Amar, Chairman of R.H. Amar, comments: "This parting of the ways has been agreed on a completely amicable basis and in the best interests of both parties. We are extremely proud of our success in helping to build the Olive Oil market in the UK.

“As a company, we have been famous for fine foods since 1945 and our success with Filippo Berio illustrates our unrivalled record for spotting and generating the latest trends in fine food from around the globe."

Henry adds: "The capacity released by this decision will enable the business to continue to grow our existing brands. We shall no doubt develop new opportunities in the other categories in which we are active and we shall certainly continue to be a one-stop supplier for retailers ' fine food needs. It should be noted that all existing distribution arrangements for Filippo Berio remain in place until 30th Sept 2008."
