New in-store touch-screen entertainment system for childrenSource : Sound Leisure RetailSound Leisure Retail (SLR) – in conjunction with Dutch partner IKC – has developed a touch screen entertainment system for use by children in supermarkets and retail outlets.
Trials of the first units are currently being completed in the Netherlands and the concept has drawn interest from several major European and American retail chains. The unit designed and manufactured by SLR in the UK, features a 10.5 vandal-proof touch screen, embedded flat panel speaker and solid state PC running IKC software aimed at keeping the kids entertained while the parents get on with the weekly shop. SLs Mike Black commented, This product is a great example of how two companies with strengths in different markets can combine to create an innovative and valuable product. We are working on several unique projects with IKC and look forward to seeing these come to fruition throughout 2008. IKCs Ronald Davidson said, Its great that SL and IKC can create products that are innovative and new to the market. In the future we will develop more interactive products together with Sound Leisure Retail, they have proven to be an excellent partner.
