Anglia Co-op installs Toshiba POS hardware
Anglia Co-op has installed Toshiba ST-71 PoS hardware with Toshiba dual-screens in its seven most recently acquired Westgate Department Stores.
This innovative technology will allow customers to view information about special offers and promotions at the till within each store. As the existing PoS hardware supplier to its Rainbow Food Stores, Anglia has many years proven experience of the quality, reliability and robustness of Toshibas hardware. The option to provide a second customer facing screen (available in 12 or 15 options) with Toshibas ST-71 PoS was key in the decision to install this latest Toshiba model. Commenting on the reason for the selection, Mark Kelby, Anglia IT Infrastructure Manager, said, The twin screen has provided us with a cost-efficient and effective way of introducing advertising and special promotions to our customers - enabling us to create greater visual impact at the counter and helping to improve the customer experience. The super-bright TFT technology means that the wide-viewing screen can be viewed from almost any angle, and is readable even in direct sunlight. The neat, compact integrated unit has a small footprint and fits seamlessly into the counter optimising merchandising space. Mark Kelby commented on the Toshiba styling, With its all black look the ST-71 aesthetics fits perfectly with the image of the newly refitted Peterborough Department store, whilst at the same time provides us with a new innovative method of informing customers about promotions. Anglia selected Toshibas wireless connection card option on 50% of the touch screen tills, enabling the company to use these as mobile units. The wireless connection means the tills can be moved around the store or switched to any of its other stores, ideal for seasonal fluctuations, or at times of special promotions. This has given Anglia far greater flexibility enabling it to recently deploy one Toshiba ST-71 till in its Suffolk food store coffee shop, for example. Commenting on this aspect, Mark Kelby says, The Toshiba tills were a joy to install; the lack of cabling made the installation very neat and the deployment of a till to another department or store is exceptionally easy. In addition, the system is so simple to use at the point of sale that training time has been greatly reduced. Amanda Bonsor, Department Cookshop Manager, said, Not only is staff training easier, the Toshiba tills are very easy to use and incredibly reliable, making it much quicker to serve customers.
