EuroShop 2008
This year's EuroShop, held between 23-27 February in Düsseldorf promises to be an even more international event than ever before. The last exhibition, held in 2005, attracted over 1,600 exhibitors and almost 91,000 visitors from 93 countries. The largest proportion of visitors were from the Netherlands and UK, but many visitors came from further afield, including Asia and North America. EuroShop has said it expects this growth in international presence to take a further step up in 2008. EuroShop consists of four main areas: EuroConcept (including shop fittings, store equipment and, new for this year, a hall dedicated just to lighting); EuroSales (visual marketing, sales promotions and POS marketing); EuroCIS (information and security technology); and EuroExpo (exhibition stand construction, design and events). Making their first EuroShop appearances in 2008 are Materialzone, where material producers will showcase innovative materials created particularly for retailers, and also the Digital Signage Plaza, which is an area dedicated to the latest developments in digital POS media. Another highlight promises to be the EuroShop Designer Village, which debuted at the 2005 show and is already fully booked. This features over 20 international architects and designers. The conference to be held on 23 February includes guest speakers from Macy's, Starbucks and Target. To find out more visit: www.euroshop.de
