New kit on the block for PayPoint retailers

Read more about

The first 500 PayPoint retailers take delivery of their new Gift Card Mall kit this week to be in-store for the run up to Christmas.

PayPoint, the UK over-the-counter payment solutions provider, and UK Gift Card programme provider Coinstar have begun the rollout of their gift card proposition to independent PayPoint retailers.

PayPoint and Coinstar have co-developed a Gift Card Mall Kit for the independent sector which includes a display stand, point of sale materials, merchandise support and a selection of well known high street brands card stock.

The first set of gift card brands are:
• Debenhams
• Argos
• Homebase
• Ticketmaster
• Spa Finder
• RFU Rugby Store
• Red Letter Days
• Gift Days Out

PayPoint retailers can now take advantage of the seasonal trade in gifting and earn 5% commission on the value of the customer load. There is no cost to the consumer to purchase a gift card other than the load value they choose and there is no risk to the retailer as stocks of gift cards have a zero value until they are activated and processed through the PayPoint terminal.

The gift card brands will be refreshed as new brands join the mall and stock will be sent direct to retailers who have a gift card mall in-store. The point of sale material will also be refreshed on a regular basis to reflect seasons and calendar dates such as Valentines Day, Easter and Mother’s Day. Stock control will be automated via the PayPoint terminal and new stocks will be replenished based on sales.

The programme rollout will continue over the coming weeks and further PayPoint retailers will be benefiting from incremental business generated by gift cards this Christmas.
