Laurent-Perrier UK Ltd has announced today that the company will no longer be distributing agency wines in the UK.

Following significant growth of the Laurent-Perrier champagne brands over the last three years, the decision has been made to focus solely on this aspect of the business.

Laurent-Perrier UK is currently the agent for Marqués de Riscal, Trinity Hill and Thorn-Clarke.

Commenting upon the decision David Hesketh MW Managing Director Laurent-Perrier UK Ltd said, “This represents a significant change in direction for the company as we have had a long association with agency wine distribution and have been fortunate to represent some outstanding wineries.

“However, with the considerable growth in the champagne market, it is appropriate we focus all our resources on developing and managing the sales of the Laurent-Perrier champagne portfolio.”

Laurent-Perrier UK Ltd will continue to represent the three wineries in the UK until 31 March 2008, whilst the agency principals investigate alternative distribution routes.
