Tesco extends book contract with Entertainment UK
Entertainment UK (E.UK) has secured an extension to its current agreement with Tesco for the supply and distribution of books to 723 stores in the UK until the end of February 2009. The new agreement sees the existing books contract, due to expire at the end of February 2008, extended by a further 12 months. It continues a very successful relationship between the two companies over the last decade, including the full supply of books since June 2004. The agreement represents further good news for E.UKs continued effort to strengthen it's position in the UK books market; a position that received a significant boost last month with the Competition Commission ruling in favour of its acquisition of the Bertram Group. On the back of that announcement, E.UK recently outlined plans to integrate the Bertram and THE businesses to further enhance its book wholesale capabilities. We continue to see books as an increasingly important market for us, and a natural extension of our traditional business. We look forward to continuing to work with Tesco to build on the mutual success which we have enjoyed together over recent years.
