Church and Dwight expands into household with Orange Glo purchase
American household and personal care company, Church and Dwight Co. Inc, has expanded its portfolio of brands with the recent acquisition of the Orange Glo International laundry and household business, including the Kaboom, Oxi Clean and Orange Glo products. The company plans to add its expertise into the UK market in a bid to replicate its success within the American household and laundry sector. The acquisition will enable Church and Dwight to add a new household segment to the company's UK business arm which currently focuses on personal care. Church and Dwight Co. Inc. based in the US, now has total sales over $2bn and is the world's leading producer of baking soda products. The company was founded in 1846 and has developed numerous baking soda products and other brands including a strong range of household and laundry products, mostly under the Arm and Hammer name. UK marketing director, David Thompson, said: "We are delighted to be widening the portfolio of Church and Dwight's products in the UK through the acquisition of Orange Glo International. The brands from this company are extremely strong. Oxi Clean is a popular laundry additive and cleaning brand which is renowned as a universal stain remover. Kaboom is a consumer friendly bathroom range that cleans toilets so that you don't have to! Orange Glo launched a new fragrance trend in furniture cleaning and polishing.
