J Sainsbury plc has announced that Jean Tomlin will be joining the Board as a non-executive director from 1 January 2013. In addition to her overall Board contribution, Jean will chair the Company’s Corporate Responsibility Committee and sit on the Remuneration and Nomination Committees.

It has been announced that on 1 January 2013 Fiona Dawson, president, Mars Chocolate UK, will become president of IGD, the international food and grocery analysts and hub for best practice. Andy Clarke, chief executive, Asda, becomes vice-president.
Sainsbury’s appoints Group HR director

Sainsbury’s has announced that Angie Risley will join the retailer as Group HR Director. Angie’s appointment follows the departure of Gwyn Burr, who leaves the company in March 2013. Angie will take responsibility for corporate, retail and logistics HR, reporting to chief executive Justin King. She joins Sainsbury’s next month and will serve on Sainsbury’s operating board.
