A wine that is ready for blast off

Who says winemaking isn't rocket science?

I went to the recent Tesco press tasting and particularly enjoyed the 2002 Meursault Les Criots Demessey French white wine, which sells at a rather premium £22.99.

The notes that came with the wine said Marc Dummont, the owner of the ‘domaine' and two others in the Burgundy region, was a former NASA rocket scientist and he had invested some of the "fortune" made in the technology industry in the wine trade.

He seems to be doing quite well as the notes said the wines are "traditionally made and classically styled and are listed in the best restaurants in France, as well as selling well in California and the Far East". I must say I thought the Meursault was "jolly nice".

It seems the wines are really taking off!
