Guardian readers back Burchill on Tesco

Guardian columnist Julie Burchill's rant against the nation's "Tesco haters" yesterday has received a surprisingly warm response from the paper's readers.

Says one: "Three cheers for Julie Burchill for speaking out against the tide of gooey hypocritical sludge written about the big nasty supermarkets."

He describes many small shopkeepers as "lazy, surly and seemingly indifferent as to whether their customers come back or not."
