The cookie never crumbles

Remember the days of sliding a digestive into your cuppa and seeing half of it crumble off to form a lovely goo-like cream at the bottom? Well, those days have now gone, according to Asda.

Inspired by Peter Kay, the supermarket has introduced a dunkable cookie that stays in shape even after it has hit the liquid.

Asda said that a "combination of oats and honey" form a bond so that the treat stays firm.

"We have invested nine months of work in the cookie, from the initial concept stages right through to extensive taste testing and sampling," mused Mel Ellison from the company's bakery team.

I wonder what's next in the long list of innovations from supermarkets? Chocolate that never melts? Eggs with yolk that doesn't break? Bread that never ends?
